Overview
A multi-disciplinary inpatient rehabilitation service designed to fast track recovery, increase functional independence and allow an earlier discharge form hospital. Coledale Hospital has:
- Rehabilitation gymnasium
- Kitchen assessment area
- Group and individual treatment rooms

We offer medical review and multi-disciplinary assessments to help you to perform everyday tasks safely and independently.
What to expect
Your length of stay will depend on your condition and the required treatment.
Who should access this service
Patients discharged from acute and subacute wards within the ISLHD requiring intervention for improving independence.
How to access this service (referrals or no referral necessary)
More often than not you will be have been discharged from another service within the ISLHD to complete your rehabilitation treatment here at Coledale.
What to bring
- Day clothes - t-shirts. Shorts, trousers, skirts, jumpers
- Supportive shoes – sneakers, orthotic shoes, slippers (non-slip sole)
- Pyjamas, dressing gown above ankle length
- Toiletries (soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo)

- Books, magazines, knitting, crosswords, deck of cards, photos – your choice
- Medicare card
- (if applicable) Private Hospital fund card/book, Veterans Affairs Repat Card, details of Workers Compensation, Public Liability or Third Party case

8am – 8pm
Visiting hours can vary from this, and sometimes visiting is restricted for the privacy and comfort of patients. If you are unsure or you wish to visit outside of these hours please check with the nurse in charge of the particular ward.
Parking and Public Transport
Coledale Hospital is located on Lawrence Hargrave Drive to the north of Coledale village. The Coledale train station is located at the Coledale village and a bus stop is located at the front of the hospital.
Visitor parking, including disabled parking is available on site.
Advice for disabled in getting to the service
Disability parking spaces are available on site. Pick-up and drop-off is available at the main entrance.
