A Multidisciplinary Day Rehabilitation Program designed to fast track recovery, increase functional independence and allow an earlier discharge from hospital. The Rehabilitation Ward has:

• On-site Medical officer in business hours and On-call medical officers after hours.
• Rehabilitation Gymnasium
• Kitchen assessment area
• Diversional Therapy Plans
• Patient lounge

What we do

We do assessments on arrival and provide individual multidisciplinary Rehabilitation plans for each patient. Our multidisciplinary team meets daily at the patient bedside and discuss progress, ongoing plan and barriers to discharge in consultation with the patient.

When to access this service

Patients’ are referred to our facility to regain function from medical or surgical ailments.

What to expect

Length of programs will depend on level of function on admission. Program can vary in time from 2 weeks to 9 weeks.
Outpatient services can be provided on discharge if required.

Who should access this service

Patients aged 18 years or older who require reconditioning following acute medical / surgical illness.

How to access this service (referrals or no referral necessary)

You will need a written referral from a Rehabilitation Doctor to use this service. The referral needs to be faxed to 02 4464 1716.
