Referral is made by the hospital staff.

What to expect

Once you have been referred, your Physiotherapist will assess you and together you will work out a treatment plan.

What to bring

If possible, please bring comfortable clothes, good closed in shoes (no thongs or floppy slippers), and a mobility aid if you have one so you can move around the ward and participate in physiotherapy sessions. Please also bring glasses and hearing aids if needed.

How to get there, including by public transport

By private vehicle, community transport .Some patients are admitted by ambulance

A few disabled places around hospital grounds. IGA car park 500m away and some on street parking around hospital

Advice for disabled in getting to the service

Have someone drive you to be dropped off  at the main entrance. There are a few wheelchairs available for patient transportation to the ward .Disabled taxi service is available locally, as is community transport and CTA.

Head of Discipline - Physiotherapy

Anne Smith is the Physiotherapy Head of Discipline for the Illawarra and Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD). She brings 27 years’ experience in Physiotherapy, having worked in a variety of settings including Hospital, community, and private.

Anne is responsible for providing professional leadership of Physiotherapy services across the LHD including Hospital and community based services.

The ISLHD Physiotherapy Department provides a broad range of clinical services and is committed to providing a comprehensive, professional and timely service.
