Patients who are linked to Specialist Palliative Care have access the Palliative Care Equipment Loan Pool at Port Kembla Hospital. Specialised equipment can assist patients to safely manage daily activities. Equipment may include electric beds, cushioned seats, shower chairs, walking aids and more.

The equipment is provided free of charge. Nursing staff can refer you for loan equipment, which must be authorised by the Occupational Therapist.

Equipment is available for 12 weeks hire (with additional 12 weeks if recommended by a health professional).

Longer term loans, or options for patients not linked to Palliative Care, can be investigated through other sources, such as ENABLE, private hire or purchase. Speak with your nurse, occupational therapist or doctor for details.
