C6 West is a shared rehabilitation and palliative care ward. Palliative care patients can be transferred to C6West from other parts of Wollongong Hospital when more intense monitoring and symptom management is required. Specialist Palliative Care Consult doctors and nurses provide care management.

Palliative patients on C6 West may be transferred to the Port Kembla Palliative Care Unit when beds become available and if they are well enough.
