Illawarra Cancer Care Centre - Medical Oncology Chemotherapy Treatment
Overview
The Medical Oncology service at the Illawarra Shoalhaven Cancer and Haematology Network provides services for a range of tumor streams or cancer types:
- Breast
- Gynaecology
- Head and Neck
- Genito-Urinary
- Lung
- Colorectal
- Upper Gastro-Intestinal
- Neuro-Oncology
- Melanoma
The Medical Oncology team work together to ensure patients receive comprehensive care and treatment during all stages of their cancer journey.
Children and Adolescents
Pediatric haematology inpatients under the age of 15 are cared for by an appropriate children’s hospital. Occasionally younger patients will be reviewed at ISCaHN if referred by a Specialist Paediatrician. Adolescents aged 15-18 are managed locally with advice from the state-wide Adolescent and Young Adult Network.

Wollongong Hospital is located close to the Wollongong CBD, near both Wollongong Train Station and the major bus routes.
Parking
The Illawarra Cancer Care Centre has two dedicated parking locations. One is located directly outside the cancer centre and this space is for the use of patients undergoing treatment. Alternate parking is housed within Wollongong Hospital’s multistorey car park.
Entrance
Access is via the main hospital Loftus St entrance. Follow the corridor to the Medical Imaging Department, then follow the signs to Illawarra Cancer Care Centre (ICCC).
Pedestrians can access the service via the Illawarra Cancer Care Centre (ICCC) ground entrance, Level 0, New Dapto Road, adjacent to the Cancer Care Centre patient car park.
Advice for disabled to get to the service
The Illawarra Cancer Centre houses a lift which enables access to the disabled. All entry points to the Cancer Centre are disabled friendly.
