Professor Morteza (Mori) Aghmesheh is a Senior Staff Specialist Medical Oncologist with Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) and an honorary Clinical Professor at the University of Wollongong (UoW) Graduate School of Medicine.
Mori is a clinical leader of the Diagnostics & Therapeutics research theme within the Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute (IHMRI) and Chief Investigator of ISLHD Cancer Biobank.
Mori has completed a Graduate Diploma in Molecular Genetics and a PhD in Cancer Genetics at Hereditary Cancer Clinic, Prince of Wales Hospital and School of Medicine, the University of New South Wales. His areas of interest are breast cancer, skin (including melanoma) and gastrointestinal malignancies. His research focuses on target delivery of chemotherapy and immunotherapy drugs into the tumour and cancer bio-banking for ongoing and future research.
Mori also has experience and expertise in conducting clinical trials in oncology. He has been the Principal Investigator for many international clinical trials in solid tumours.
