Dr Ian Muir is an Emergency Medicine Staff Specialist at Wollongong Hospital. Currently, he is one of the Deputy Directors of the Emergency Department, and is involved with Quality Assurance and complaint management. He also manages the mentorship program for ED in conjunction with ACEM.

During his time as a Registrar (prior to completion of the ACEM Fellowship exam), Dr Muir has had exposure to a range of cases through the busy emergency department. He enjoys the support from, and exposure to, the diverse range of experienced emergency medicine senior professionals.

Originally from Cape Town, Dr Muir has been living in Australia for over a decade and has fallen in love with the area. Residing in Bulli, he cites the 15 minute drive to Wollongong, close vicinity to Sydney city, and access to the South Coast’s best beaches, surf and lifestyle, as reasons he chooses to stay.
