Dr Soo Ming Phang graduated from the University of Manchester, UK in 2002, and completed basic surgical training in the UK. Intending to have a career break in Australia for a year in 2008, he left the UK but succumbed to Australian charm and still hasn’t left.

He finished emergency training at the Hunter New England Health District in NSW and qualified as a Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) in 2015. In 2016 he started working as a Staff Specialist at Wollongong Hospital Emergency Department.

Dr Phang is passionate about emergency training, and is actively involved to improve Wollongong Hospital's Emergency Department's training. He has a special interest in undergraduate teaching, and is currently an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer for the Graduate Medical School at the University of Wollongong.
