What we do

Our midwives and doctors provide care for pregnant women through birth and after baby.

When to call

If you are over 20 weeks pregnant and have a concern relating to you pregnancy, or if you think you are in labour, please call and talk to a midwife on Ph. 4222 5270. We are open 24 hours a day.

What to expect

You will be greeted at reception and introduced to a midwife who will assess you and arrange for you to be seen by a doctor if required.

Assessments in the Birthing Unit can take a few hours so please encourage your family to wait for you to call them with the outcome of your stay.

What to bring

Your yellow "Antenatal Record" Sheet.

If you think you are in labour, bring a bag with toiletries and a change of clothes for you and your baby.

Need an Interpreter? Professional interpreters are available if you need help to communicate with staff. Our staff can also ask for an interpreter. The service is free and confidential. We will book the interpreter for you. You can also call the Translating and Interpreting Service on 131 450 if you need to speak to us before your appointment. Click here for more information about the Illawarra Health Care Interpreter Service.
