Bereavement Service
Overview
Grief is a normal and natural response to the death of someone significant in our lives. Every person grieves in their own way and there is no ‘right’ way to grieve.
Similarly, we all cope in different ways. Many people will rely on their family and friends for support, alongside their existing coping strategies. Other people may prefer to access support from specialised organisations.
We have developed a range of support services and information to try and cater for these diverse needs.
Our service offers:
- Bereavement Counselling
- Volunteer Grief Companions
- Support groups, events and memorial services
- Training and education for professionals and community groups
- Information and resources
Please click on the links on the right side of this page to learn more about each option, or contact the ISLHD Bereavement Coordinator (see Contact Information).
