Disruptive or defiant

Poor self-control, blames others, interferes with other students’ and/or teachers’ property
Fidgety, impulsive, uncooperative, fails to think beforehand, interrupts, impatient, rowdy, on-the-go
Perfectionist, obsessed with ritual, rigid rules, gets distressed is cannot complete task
Sudden, repetitive, abnormal physical movement, sound or speech
Reluctance or refusal to leave parents; clinging, dependant, homesick
Restless, irritable, perfectionist physical symptoms such as; sweaty, nausea, diarrhoea
Intentional acts of injury to self e.g. punching walls, cutting, placing self in risky situations
Inferred or disclosed thoughts of death or suicide; verbally, in writing or art, actual suicide attempt
Insistence on things being the same, strictly follows routines, rigid thinking patterns, distress at change

 

Difficulties with communication and social interaction

Social withdrawal, detachment, avoidant of certain objects, people, places or activities
Does not initiate or respond to social interactions, lack of facial expression, deficits in developing and maintaining relationships. Restricted communication, misinterprets social cues

Difficulties with emotional wellbeing
