As of Monday 16 March there has been one confirmed case of COVID-19 in the Illawarra Shoalhaven region. The case is a returned traveler who has had contact with another confirmed case and has been in self isolation since returning to Australia.

In a NSW first, patients booked for the most complex surgeries at Wollongong Hospital have the opportunity to attend "Surgery School" to learn how to physically and mentally prepare themselves.

Mental Health staff from the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) and Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) are working together to provide psychological support to bushfire affected communities on the South Coast.
