CONCERT Biobank

ISLHD Cancer Division is a partner in The Centre for Oncology Education and Research Translation (CONCERT) which is a Translational Cancer Research Centre funded by the NSW Cancer Institute. The CONCERT Biobank is an open-access, research and tissue collection facility focused on the prevention, detection, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

The CONCERT Biobank aims to provide NSW cancer researchers with access to high-quality, biospecimens and associated epidemiological, clinical, genetic and quality of life data to facilitate cancer research.  These biobank biospecimens and associated data can be used by CONCERT and ISLHD clinician scientists and their research collaborators to improve detection, diagnosis,  treatment and prevention of cancer. Biobank biospecimens can also be accessed by other cancer researchers upon application.

CONCERT Biobank biospecimen collection includes: formalin-fixed paraffin embedded tissue, fresh tumour and normal adjacent tissue, blood, cerebrospinal fluid and optionally other body fluids.
