Your responsibilities
Accordion Content
There are strict policies in place that guide fundraising and donations; this includes legislative requirements. Please ensure you read the NSW Health Fundraising Policy and associated guidelines. You should also contact the District’s Fundraising Coordinator for more information and advice before seeking or entering into agreements on donations. All fundraising activities must also meet strict criteria and require approval.
DO NOT:
- Bring donation cheques to the cashier or offer to organise payments, encourage them to reach out to Fundraising for ISLHD or take payments directly to a cashier
- Begin fundraising without approval from your manager and the Media & Communications team
- Do anything outside of your job description regarding fundraising activities, after hours with approval is OK.
DO:
- Bring inspired or grateful individuals or organisations to our District Fundraiser’s attention
- Know a bit about the donations process to avoid any hiccups in future
- Read the Fundraising Framework and Guideline documents to know more if you are interested in donations and fundraising opportunities for your area.
- Bring any bequests or individuals who would like to put ISLHD in their will, directly to Finance.
- Print a copy of our common FAQ as a flyer for your breakroom, invite our District Fundraiser to your staff meeting for a Q&A, or reach out with any questions. We are here to help!
- Ask for help writing thank you’s to any large donations that come in.
