Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS)

Overview

EPAS is a service for women who are less than 20 weeks pregnant, who are experiencing mild bleeding, pain or miscarriage. 

We run by appointment only. 

If you need pain relief or are bleeding or passing large clots, please go directly to the Emergency Department or call an ambulance.

 

What to expect

Please expect to stay for more than 2 hours.

You will be seen by a midwife and a doctor.

A plan will be discussed with you to help manage your care.

Who should access this service

Women who are less than 20 weeks pregnant and do not require urgent medical attention.

How to access this service (referrals or no referral necessary)

Access is by appointment only. Your GP can fax 4222 5930 a referral and test results to the EPAS clinic.

You or your GP can phone 4253 4270 during business hours. If you ring please leave a message with your name and contact details.

What to bring

All blood test results, Ultrasound reports and a referral from your GP if you have one.

 

Need an Interpreter? Professional interpreters are available if you need help to communicate with staff. Our staff can also ask for an interpreter. The service is free and confidential. We will book the interpreter for you. Free Bus drops you at the hospital. Walk west and enter hospital through the Crown Street Entrance
